NexGen is looking for a Manager, Quality and Technical Solutions to join it's team!

NexGen is a Gray Construction company that self-performs concrete, steel, equipment rigging, and millwright services and finishes for Gray Construction projects. NexGen is fully integrated with Gray Construction and serves as a preferred subcontractor.

 

Overview:
NexGen Contracting is seeking a dedicated Quality and Technical Solutions Manager to play a key role in developing the technical vision of the organization and leading NexGen Concrete’s quality management and technological innovation efforts. This role will work with Company leadership to develop and implement technical and quality strategy roadmaps that will align the Company’s business goals and objectives to support continued growth.  This role requires the vision to see the responsibilities through the lens of the business to drive value from innovative technologies and quality programs that will enhance the Company’s projects and create a sustainable competitive advantage for NexGen Concrete.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Work with the NexGen Concrete leadership team to set clear priorities and goals for identifying, evaluating, and adapting new and emerging technologies, innovation, and quality systems.
  2. Lead the evaluation of new and emerging technologies.
  3. Actively participate with Company leadership in the adaptation of new technologies.
  4. Provide technical leadership and serve an integral role in pre-construction, operations, and business development.
  • Review project plans and specifications to identify potential issues or opportunities for system, means, and method optimization.
  • Participate in the project proposal/sales phase as needed, offering expertise and insights to strengthen project bids.
  1. Track, control, and develop Departmental annual operating and capital budgets.
  2. Advocate and communicate technological opportunities and capabilities internally and externally.
  • Host, organize, and occasionally lead lunch-and-learn sessions or other continuing education events for internal and external audiences.
  1. Actively participate in developing and implementing NexGen Concrete's Quality Management strategy and plan aligned to the pre-construction and operations business units' needs.
  2. Lead the development of NexGen Concrete's Quality Management department, ensuring adherence to pre-construction and operations best practices and standards.
  3. Actively participate and maintain involvement in professional organizations and associations related to the concrete and broader construction industries.

 

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in concrete construction or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or relevant coursework; graduate degree in related field is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Programs, including Excel, Outlook, Word, Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of pertinent ASTM, ACI, and other governing standards related to concrete construction.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
  • Ability to build strong interpersonal relationships with peers, customers, vendors, and industry partners.
  • Excellent leadership, team building and management skills.
  • Ability to align multiple strategies and ideas to achieve business goals.
  • Ability to present and communicate effectively with audiences of varying sizes, technical and business experience, and competency levels.
  • Strong pragmatic strategic thinking ability.
