NexGen is looking for a Project Manager - Quality Street and Equipment to join their team in Lexington, KY.

Position Overview:
The new team member is required to have seven to ten years of experience in construction management, with a minimum of seven to ten years’ experience managing large industrial construction projects. Experience as the lead project manager of a construction project is required.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

  • The project manager will coordinate the interrelating activities of subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, and customers.
  • Will monitor and report on the financial status of the project(s) and is responsible for subcontract and contract administration.
  • Develop job progress schedule to ensure that actual construction parallels with the schedule.
  • Purchase and monitor the delivery of all needed materials for the project(s) ensuring optimum prices, quality, and conformance to specifications.
  • Negotiate contracts with internal and external vendors.
  • Monitoring all phases of the project to stay on schedule and within budget until project completion.
  • Collaborate closely with Trade Partners, be a resource for current information, and be proactive in anticipating and meeting their needs.
  • Review and approve subcontractor and vendor payment requests.
  • Issue changes in the work to receive prices from vendors in a timely fashion.
  • Prepare various reports to successfully manage the project(s), such as monthly red files, progress analysis/schedules, billings, and status reports.
  • Maintain and manage project financials through the use of CMiC
  • Organize and maintain job files to ensure continuity of workflow.
  • Submit verbal and written reports on project status to management.
  • Review drawings and submittals to ensure compliance with scope of work and site operations.
  • Responsible for estimating efforts relative to the project(s) and proposal preparation efforts.
  • Responsible for the communication, implementation and enforcement of Gray’s safety and quality programs on site.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management (or closely related field) preferred.
  • 7-10 years of industry experience with a proven track record in project management or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience as a lead project manager for large industrial construction projects is required
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is a plus but not required
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Project, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, CMIC, or similar project management software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to lead teams and present to stakeholders.
  • Must be able to travel up to 60% of the time (in-state and out-of-state).
  • Ability to work extended hours as required by projects schedules or urgent circumstances.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective planning, resource management, and project scheduling skills.
  • Attention to detail with a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to navigate complex construction schedules and identify potential issues proactively.
  • Dedication to promoting and ensuring workplace safety.

While performing the duties of this position, the team member is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and arms, reach, and talk or hear.  They are regularly required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.  Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs, and occasionally lift or move up to 100 lbs.  Specific vision abilities include accurate near and distant vision.

 

Frequently in a normal office environment where noise level is moderate and temperature/humidity is controlled.  Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions.  May be exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold and/or heat, risk of electrical shock, explosives and vibrations.  Noise level on the job site is normally moderate to loud.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
